To help children spend time with books and literacy, the Ansonia School Readiness Council is partnering with agencies to promote literacy in their summer programs. Campers at the YMCA will enjoy weekly reading challenges and time is going to be set aside to read quietly and visit the Ansonia Public Library.
The sites of the Ansonia School Readiness grant program will also engage their students in various activities that promote literacy and reading together at home. The Family Resource Center is also going to be offering programs to assist with reading during the summer and completing summer reading assignments.
Please visit your local library for a summer Calendar of Events. Our local libraries do an excellent job of promoting literacy through fun and engaging programming.
